Olimpiysky Stadium (Olimpiysky National Sports Complex) was finally finished and it’s ready to host the grand Euro 2012 final.
The reconstruction started in 2008 and construction cost is estimated at ~500 mil. Euro and the inauguration day was on 11.09.2011 with Shakira.
In those three years, there were a lot of problems with the construction and the inauguration was delayed a few times because of that.
Olimpiysky Stadium is part of the Olimpiysky National Sports Complex and will be up for many other sports (it can hold Olympic Games too) not only for football.
Before reconstruction, it had a capacity of 83,450 but now it was reduced to 70,050.
This will be the biggest stadium which will host games at EURO 2012 and along with the final, other three matches from group stage and one quarter-final will be played there.
