Burj Dubai ( Khalifa ) Launch

Yesterday, Burj Dubai was launched in an impressive ceremony with fireworks, laser and fountains. The building was estimated to be 818 metres, but after construction it has 828 metres and right now it’s definitely most tallest building on Earth. See the videos bellow if you miss the ceremony:

Empire State Building

Empire State BuildingEmpire State Building is located near the intersection between West 34th Street and Fifth Avenue , in New York.

American Society of Civil Engineers named Empire State Building as one of the Seven Wonders of Modern World. The building become the tallest building in New York in 2001, after World Trade Center were destroyed.

Empire State Building is owned and managed by W&H Properties.

The Empire State Building remained the tallest skyscraper in the world for 41 years, and stood as the world’s tallest man-made structure for 23 years. It was surpassed as tallest building by the North Tower of the World Trade Center in 1972.

Petronas Towers

Petronas TowerPetronas Twin Towers (also known as the Petronas Towers or Twin Towers), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was the worlds tallest building, before being surpassed by the Taipei 101. Tower 1 by Hazama Corporation of Japan and Tower 2 was built by the South Korean multinational Samsung Engineering & Construction. They were the world’s tallest buildings from 1998 to 2004 if measured from the level of the main entrance to the structural top, the original height reference used by the US-based Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat from 1969 (three additional height categories were introduced as the tower neared completion in 1996)

Al Burj

Al Burj is a skyscraper proposed by developer Al Nakheel in Dubai. Samsung Engineering & Construction alongside with other redoubtable constructors is in talk with Al Nakheel to become Al Burj constructor. Samsung Engineering & Construction is also building Burj Dubai, Japanese Shimizu Corporation and Australian Grocon. The initial height was 1600 meter, but now it seem will be 1200 meters.

To date very little has been revealed about the exact design but Nakheel keeps stressing that it will become one of the tallest towers in the world and become a new icon for Dubai.
