The Trump International Hotel and Tower, also simply known as Trump Tower Chicago, is a renowned supertall mix use skyscraper, located in downtown of the largest city in the US state of Illinois, Chicago.
Official inaugurated in January 2008, the building’s total construction cost added up to approximately 847 million dollars, as the structure was named after real estate developer Donald Trump, an American business magnate. The American architectural and engineering firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, represented by architect Adrian Smith, was in charge of the design. With a hight of almost 424 metres, the building has 98 floors and 2,600,000 square feet of floor space, becoming the seventh-tallest building in the world once it was finalized, yet the initial project intended for the structure to be the world’s tallest building at that time. Its main usages are hotel (from the 17th to the 27th floors) and residential condominium space, housing more than 480 luxury residential condominiums, including studio apartments, a combination of suites with one up to four bedrooms, and five-bedroom penthouses. Special residential floors located on the mid-levels above the Trump International Hotel can be used as hotel space during the busy period, at the discretion of the unit owners.
